We’re closing out the year with a release packed with powerful enhancements designed to make your day-to-day work in Screendragon smoother, smarter, and more efficient. From streamlined estimating and richer financial insights to quality-of-life improvements like dark mode and self-service password resets, every update is built to save time and simplify your workflow.
This release also introduces the ability to send scheduled reports to multiple users and groups, improved print options for estimates, and a round of performance upgrades across the platform — ensuring you start the new year working faster than ever!
Estimates – Hours Only Option
Simplify time-based project estimating with the new Hours Only option in Estimates.
We’ve enhanced our Estimate functionality to better support teams that want to plan capacity without tracking monetary values. Some customers have told us they use estimates to manage hours, not budgets—particularly when projects aren’t billed but still require accurate resource planning. With this update, you can now configure estimate templates to display hours only, without requiring rates.
What This Means
- You can track total planned and actual hours without applying financial rates.
- Users can maintain visibility over capacity planning and resource burn.
- Optionally include out-of-pocket (OOP) costs, if needed.
This setting can be enabled at the template level in the Estimate Manager admin tool – so you can use both monetary and hours-only templates depending on your workflow needs.

Financial Reporting Dashboard
Gain deeper visibility into your budgets and spending with the new Financial Reporting Dashboard.
We’re excited to introduce the Finance Reporting Dashboard—a centralized view that gives finance teams deeper visibility into project financials, all in one place.
This dashboard allows you to:
- Review high-level financial metrics across multiple projects
- Monitor budgeted vs actuals in real-time
- Track total planned costs, resource burn, and out-of-pocket (OOP) spend
- Drill into project-level financial data with improved clarity
- View and consolidate multi-currency grouped project data in a single, preferred currency for easier financial analysis
The Financial Reporting Dashboard empowers finance and leadership teams to make faster, more informed decisions—with less time spent manually pulling reports.
This feature is available to users with the appropriate financial reporting permissions.

Sending Scheduled Reports to Multiple Users & Groups
Reporting just got easier!
You can now schedule reports to be automatically sent to multiple users and user groups, streamlining distribution and reducing repetitive setup.
With this enhancement, you can:
- Select one or more individual users and/or groups to receive a scheduled report
- Add a custom message to the email notification for added context
- Eliminate the need to create duplicate reports for each recipient
This is especially useful for weekly reporting or team distribution lists.
Note: Reports are sent as-is to all selected recipients. Permissions are not personalized—each recipient will see the same content you see. Please ensure access is appropriate before sending to a group.
Scheduled Reports
Dark Mode
Give your eyes (and your style) a break with Screendragon’s new Dark Mode.
We’ve added Dark Mode to give users more control over their viewing experience.
Dark Mode offers a darker, more subdued color scheme—ideal for low-light environments or users who prefer a less bright interface. It features dark backgrounds with light-colored text and icons for improved readability and reduced eye strain.
- You can enable Dark Mode via your Profile Settings.
- This setting is applied at the user or group level, giving flexibility without impacting the entire site.
Whether you’re working late or want a different look, Dark Mode is now just a toggle away.
Self-Service Password Reset
No more waiting for admin help — users can now reset their own passwords directly from the login screen.
What’s New?
A dedicated interface allows users to securely update their passwords at any time.
The form requires:
- Current password (for verification)
- New password entered twice (for confirmation)
- Password must meet your site’s existing security policies
Auditing & Security
Every successful password reset is logged in the User Event Log, showing that a change occurred.
For security reasons, the log does not include the old or new password. This enhancement improves security, reduces admin workload, and gives users more control over account access.
Print Estimate Improvements
Printing estimates is now smoother and more customizable.
We’ve made key updates to improve the clarity and accuracy of printed estimates, based on customer feedback on managing complex resourcing and deliverables.
Enhanced Field Visibility
You can now display all key estimate fields—including Deliverable Task Name, Item, and Task Name—on the printed estimate output. This gives greater transparency when reviewing or sharing estimates.
- Now, individual deliverable-level details can be pulled through and displayed line by line.
- If a deliverable name isn’t available, the field will appear blank—or show a count value if configured.
Cleaner Print Outputs
Only the active estimating methods used on a project will now be included in the print version. Estimating methods with no data will be automatically excluded, reducing clutter and making the printout easier to read.
These improvements help ensure that printed estimates reflect the structure and data used in your actual planning—making them more useful for internal reviews and client communications.
Performance Improvements
You’ll notice it — everything just feels better. Behind the scenes, we’ve made significant performance optimizations across key modules to improve load times, responsiveness, and overall system stability. It’s the same Screendragon you know — only quicker and smoother than ever.
Standard Reports – Admin Actions Enhancements
Added search, multi-select, and bulk trigger support for Admin Actions, plus UI refinements for more straightforward navigation.
New Integration: Google Cloud Storage (GCP-GCS)
New GCP-GCS connection type now available in Connection Manager, Report Scheduler, and Workflow Triggers.
Timesheet Reporting – Multi-Approver Visibility
Timesheet reports now show all approvers, supporting dual-approval workflows and compliance needs.
“Edit Project” Button Access Now Limited to Super Admins
To support best practices and maintain data integrity, access to the “Edit Project” button is now reserved for Super Admins—ensuring projects are updated only by designated power users.
Form File Copying Across Sections
Admins can now efficiently transfer forms and associated configurations between different sites within the system.
Task Color-Coding in Gantt, List & Kanban Views
Apply color to tasks across views using a new picker—colors sync automatically and import with tasks.
